The Elm House

The house stands back from the lane behind a brick wall and a mature elm. Inside, the plan is generous and legible: a wide hall, a drawing room with two sets of tall sash windows, and a kitchen that opens through a glazed addition to the garden.

Upstairs, bedrooms are arranged around a half-landing that catches the afternoon light. The top floor was once a nursery and is now a quiet study with a view over the neighbouring roofs towards the Heath.

Original joinery has been kept where it was sound and replaced with care where it was not. The newer work is deliberately plain so the old rooms can lead.
